Green Countertop Options

The old favorite granite is durable and looks great, but may not be the most eco-friendly option. When it comes to green countertops, there's one magic word: recyclable. A new countertop is a great opportunity to show your commitment to the environment by using recycled materials.

Paper Countertops

It may be hard to believe, but recycled paper actually makes for great countertops. This paper isn't in the same form as the pad you put your shopping list on, of course, it more closely resembles the texture of the tree it came from than of the finished product you typically associate with paper. Recycled paper countertops, are easy to install, which means big savings, almost as tough as granite, and long-lasting. Plus, your friends won't believe it when you tell them what your counter is made of!

Reclaimed Wood Countertops

If you're a diehard conservationist, you can install a reclaimed wood countertop. They're expensive, and you need to seal them regularly (using eco-friendly sealant, of course) to keep them from getting water damage, but it's great for the environment, and likely to last a lifetime.

Recycled Glass Countertops

Recycled glass is also expensive, but as far as aesthetics and durability, it is comparable to granite. It's also, in addition to being recycled, often free from any toxic chemicals. Whatever your choice, Greenerz Remodeling can help you find a countertop that fits your budget, and install it quickly and easily, so you can enjoy your green countertop for years to come.
